Committees & Panels

CCKL is guided by various panels of experts who advise the board on the interpretation and application of the established assessment criteria. The most important panels and committees are:
  • External Quality Control panel (EQC).

This panel brings together national programmes for external quality control of laboratories that perform research in the field of health care. The task of the EQC panel is to stimulate and initiate the development of quality control programmes within each professional association, and to promote the establishment of quantifiable standards. Furthermore, the EQC panel also makes recommendations on e.g. the field of education and peer consultation.

  • Accreditation Policy Advisory Committee (APAC).

This committee functions as a panel of experts, and its main task is to periodically publish a new edition of the CCKL Code of Practice. In addition, it makes recommendations to the CCKL Board (often at its own initiative) on e.g. accreditation criteria, issues specific to ‘small laboratories’, terminology of fields of work, national en international documents and policy development.

  • Laboratory Visitation Committee (LVC).

Almost every professional association has its own visitation committee and/or training visitation. For this reason, regular harmonization and consultation takes place between the CCKL managing director and the individual committees and auditors. The subject of these consultations includes CCKL assessment methods and refresher training of auditors, otherwise known as ‘calibration’.
